The situation is suitable for a single, mature person - 30+(working, grad student, semi-retired...) who is looking for a comfortable stay in this non-smoking, environmentally-friendly home. THE ROOM IS AVAILABLE April 1st (or earlier). Rent is $700 and includes utilities (heat, hot water) and use of wireless Internet, washer/dryer, dishwasher, toaster oven. The house is currently wired using Shaw for internet and cable. Sorry, landlord says no pets. MORE ABOUT THE HOUSE: - It’s an older, rather, quirky home but is sunny and bright (has a sunroom) - great location near shopping and bus routes (#3 and #7) - easy on-street parking - one large four-piece bathroom that would be shared ABOUT THE 2ND BEDROOM - is semi-furnished with a Captain's bed (twin), chest of drawers, glass-topped table with chairs…. - size is about 10' X 10.5' plus a large closet with rows of shelving - room faces west so gets lots of afternoon sun NOTE: Last photo of room with table and 2 chairs is the 2nd bedroom. ABOUT ME: I am a semi-retired professional and work from home. I use a corner of the DR/LR for a home office and require quiet and privacy particularly in the mornings. I'm also a meditator and offer services as a Life Coach, Editor/Proofreader, and Organizer/Declutterer. I am eco-conscious - a composter and recycler. I value neatness and cleanliness, quiet and calm. I'm a vegetarian (well, mostly -- I do eat fish - and want a house-mate who is NOT into cooking meat), a non-smoker and living a healthy lifestyle. And while I’m friendly and would enjoy the occasional shared meal, I prefer solitude and “alone” time. ABOUT YOU: Essentially, I am looking for someone who is working or going to school during the day (at least in the mornings) and who is comfortable with solitude. I’ve also had house-mates who enjoyed working/studying/doing art, etc. in their room and going out for walks, visiting, etc. So, they were occupied and not sitting around the LR during the day, especially in the mornings. You'll be responsible for items of a personal and household nature. You are tidy and clean. You also enjoy a home, like I do, where loud parties, excessive drinking and drug use, lots of people hanging around, overnight guests, etc. happen elsewhere! You value quiet times at home when you're around and enjoy, and contribute to, this serene environment. A House-Mate Agreement is required and information will be passed on to the landlady. REFERENCES expected. Damage/holding deposit of $350. Something to be aware of - The landlady (who lives next door) will likely be selling the house, probably in a year or so. I’m keeping my fingers crossed it’s a long time away - but maybe not. You should have a back-up plan if the place goes up for sale sooner rather than later. Also, there is no secure, indoor bicycle storage.
